Responsibilities
- Understanding of 3-D drawing programs such as Solid Works.
- Work on models, fit check of prototype or new parts.
- Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to devise creative and practical solutions.
- Ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
- Prepare, edit and create component, assembly drawings, and models for engineering approval.
- Research, collect data, and/or make mathematical calculations to recommend or make design changes to engine or component parts.
- Be able to communicate relevant information between and across departments.
- Independently lead design (CAD) & concepts for new and existing products to meet customer & product specifications, with minimal supervision.
- Ensures compliance with required design standards, manuals, safety factors, geometric tolerances, and customer, marketing, and engineering specifications.
- Prepare and execute engineering change Notices (ECN) in a timely manner with minimal supervision.
- Evaluates tolerance stack-ups to insure proper fit of components and proper application of GD&T techniques.
- Interfaces with toolmakers, quality, and marketing to conduct a cross-functional design review before drawings are finalized and released for production.
- Understands and implements elements of design for manufacturability (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), and design for operation (DFO) during the product design process.
- 2 year Associates Technical degree or approved equivalent in the field of Drafting or Design (Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) is a plus).
- Exceptional mechanical design drafting practices, including proficiency and full compliance with ASME Standard Y14.5 – 2009 and relevant GD&T standards.
- Advance knowledge of Pro E and its advanced features.
- Ability to use a personal computer to produce reports, presentations, and spreadsheets using Windows-based software.
- Good understanding of top-down modeling and 3D parameterization techniques is a plus.
- Good Interpersonal & Communication skills to work with others in the department, Engineers, Manufacturing Personal, Customer Service, and Sales Staff.
- Ability to work independently in a team-based environment and produce quality drawings and models in a timely manner.
- Electrical - Mechanical background a plus.
- A basic to mid-level knowledge of electrical systems to include but not limited to PLC programming and diagnostics also a plus, but not required.
- You must have outstanding punctuality and attendance.
