At Anne Arundel Community College, we seek a highly skilled Academic Support Specialist to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have a master's degree or higher in English or a closely related field and possess excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
This is a part-time position that requires regular in-person presence on campus and at alternative locations. The successful candidate will provide one-on-one tutoring in person and/or on Zoom for students and members of the community engaged in writing projects at any stage of the process.
Salary Range: $37.13-$40.10/hr
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide academic support services to students and community members.
- Assist with organization, structure, conformity with assignment, grammar/mechanics, ethical source use, and documentation (MLA or APA).
- Track and report service usage.
Required Qualifications:
- Masters degree or higher in English or a closely related field.
- Previous college-level teaching experience in English or a closely related field and/or previous college-level Writing Center tutoring experience.
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
