Title – Senior Development Geologist - UCO
Role - The Development Geoscientist holds responsibilities for field development planning and execution, subsurface interpretation, competitor intelligence, and assisting with geologic operations. The role is collaborative, and the candidate will work closely with geoscience, petrophysics, geophysics, reservoir engineering, operations, regulatory, and land counterparts.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities
- Work with multi-disciplinary team (Drilling/Completions/Production/Land/Regulatory) to assess pad locations, drilling plans, and completions as input to Subsurface Appraisal Plans (SAPs) and Field Development Plans (FDPs).
- Work with the subsurface team to generate BHLs, maps, and presentations for operations and permitting.
- Work with drilling, regulatory, and land to ensure the BHLs follow proper legal spacing, hard lines, and the plan from the subsurface team.
- Work collaboratively with geoscience operations to ensure quality of primary and final geosteering interpretations by consultants and that they are consistent in data structure.
- Project lead for backsteering initiatives and provide backsteering interpretation on key offset horizontal wells as needed.
- Conduct geologic evaluation of assets using geologic data (core, well logs, seismic, etc).
- Gather and incorporate new data as acquired or available to further strengthen field models and make recommendations when new data is needed to improve understanding of reservoirs.
- Perform regional and local geologic characterization of geologic formations.
- Provide work outputs necessary to support internal project reviews, timelines, and processes.
- Provide geologic input for competitor intelligence to the cross-functional team.
- Work with the asset team on water sourcing and disposal well planning.
- Work with the drilling team on casing point designs and planning for multiple plays and asset areas.
- Provide geologic support to land and production teams for unitization, flaring exemptions, and state and federal spacing unit exhibits and testimony. Work with subsurface team to generate supporting documentation for state and fed lease sales.
- Work collaboratively with the subsurface and development teams to appropriately assess and categorize AEC inventory in alignment with calibrated technical fairways.
- Provide key post-TD learnings from drilling metrics, geosteering, shows, mudlogs, etc as well as ensuring all data is secured and loaded accurately in AEC files systems.
- Collaboratively plan pilot hole and lateral logging/coring operations and advanced sample collection programs for Geochem/Revochem (onsite as necessary) with the subsurface integration and operations geology teams.
- Project lead on the collection and analysis of Revochem data, in collaboration with the subsurface team, and preparation of presentations to facilitate discussion with the broader team.
- Work collaboratively to ensure geoscience software is accurately populated with drilling data (surveys, logs, core analysis, etc.) and QC data and maintain updated asset geology maps.
- Maintain development inventory layers.
- Work to understand and tie production results to targeting windows for ongoing optimization.
- Exemplify multi-disciplinary workflows and efforts between geoscience & engineering functions.
Education and Experience
- MS from an accredited university in Geology/Geophysics preferred
- BS from an accredited university in Geology/Geophysics required
- Experience, 5-10 years, possessing experience in subsurface technical analysis applied to ED&P success.
Additional Skills
- In-depth knowledge of O&G subsurface analyses, operations, conventional, unconventional development/appraisal (unconventional in recent history). Strong business acumen.

Salary Range: $140,000 - $180,000
