Antietam Broadband is looking for a Network Operation Manager! This position is not remote. This position is responsible for management of personnel and functions associated with the delivery, maintenance, and upgrade of telecommunication services to residential, commercial, and enterprise customers. Responsible for telecommunications network operations center, remote telecommunications facilities, PON network devices, soft phone switch, and IPTV platforms to ensure continuous operations and efficient service delivery. This position covers multiple, fixed shifts, depending on schedules and our employee needs. Schedule flexibility and a willingness to troubleshoot outside of regular shift during an outage is required. The primary role is to respond to escalations, analyze and troubleshoot problems, resolve problems, brain storm advanced ideas, keep our systems up to date, and look for solutions to future problems.

Rate: $90,000-$110,000/year

Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Manages network operations, technical personnel: monitors network platform performance and workflows to ensure timely operations and completion of projects. Budget management of work activities. Technical resource for staff and company, as required. Responsible for the design of platform upgrades/migrations driving efficiencies in operations.
- Annual and routine capital and expense budget development and management. Prepares forecasts and proposes strategies to maintain expense and capital expenditures.
- Assist with the ISP network engineering.
- Manage and maintain documentation for all ISP-related activities, including network diagrams, asset inventory, and fiber optic networks.
- Oversee the design, installation, and maintenance of inside plant network infrastructure, including cabling, routers, switches, and other critical hardware.
- Work on and complete projects required to upgrade, change, and operate as an ISP.
- Use any free time not needed to fulfill the above duties to do self-training to develop your knowledge and skills.
- Ensure that technology planning and practices are aligned with strategic business goals and the company’s overall strategic road map.
- Maintain an appropriate and professional image of the company through appearance, demeanor, and interactions with customers always.
- Comply with company policies and specifications.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
The successful Network Operation Manager has:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 2 years of management experience
- 2 years of budget development and management
- A minimum of 5 years in telecommunications environment or relevant field
- Knowledge of Linux and Windows servers is required. Red Hat, Ubuntu, Suse, Windows.
- Knowledge of Programming and Scripting languages is important. Python, Perl, and bash is preferred
- Knowledge of Juniper and Cisco is important.
- Ability to analyze, identify, prioritize and solve problems is required.
- Experience in troubleshooting hardware, network problems, wireless networks, email clients/servers, connectivity, server services (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, FTP, BGP, etc. protocols.), scripts, and programming is desirable.
- Good relations and communication skills are required.
- Excellent Project Management skills
- Network management, policy, analytics, security, and access controls knowledge.
- Excellent VMware and SAN knowledge to support the team’s virtualization and storage responsibilities.
- Ability to make data driven decisions in a timely manner while managing projects.
- Interest in proactively working with and solving customer service trouble issues/concerns.
- Ability to learn new skills while contributing to projects with engineers.
