Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Structural & Miscellaneous Steel Estimator to prepare accurate cost estimates, analyze project specifications, and coordinate bids. This role requires expertise in steel fabrication, erection, and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review drawings, specs, and contracts to determine project scope.
- Perform material take-offs and develop detailed cost estimates.
- Obtain and analyze vendor/subcontractor quotes.
- Identify risks, value engineering opportunities, and ensure competitive pricing.
- Prepare and submit accurate bid proposals.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 5 years of experience in steel estimating.
- Pay will depend on experience.
- Strong knowledge of fabrication, erection, and industry standards (AISC, AWS, ASTM).
- Proficiency in estimating software (FabSuite, Tekla EPM, Bluebeam, etc.).
- Ability to read all design drawings and manage multiple bids under deadlines.
- Strong math, analytical, and negotiation skills.
Preferred:
- Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (preferred).
- Experience with design-build projects and contract terms.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
