Archbishop Spalding High School is accepting applications for the position of Math teacher for the 2025-2026 academic year. The High School Math Teacher is responsible for the direct supervision and instruction of students. This is a full-time, benefit-eligible, 10-month teaching position.
Essential Functions
- Implement lesson plans that adhere to the Archdiocesan curriculum and Maryland course of study utilizing a variety of techniques to motivate, challenge, and engage students.
- Create a positive instructional environment conducive to learning.
- Interact effectively and respond to all parent communication in a professional, empathetic, and timely manner.
- Communicate standards, achievements, and deficiencies through email, phone calls, conferences, and an electronic grade book weekly.
- Safely and actively supervise students both inside and outside of the classroom.
- Work collaboratively with other teachers, staff, and administration.
- Experience with integration of technology is preferred.
- Attend school events including, but not limited to Open Houses, festivals, concerts, etc.
Position Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education, Mathematics, or related field
- Qualifications needed for MSDE secondary certification
- Experience teaching multiple levels of math including (but not limited to) Algebra, Geometry, and Pre-Calculus
- Experience teaching AP/IB Mathematics preferred
- A pedagogical knowledge that encourages critical thinking
- Understanding and appreciation for curriculum development and collaboration
- Strong proficiency in utilizing digital or online platforms, specifically Google Suite and Canvas
- Enthusiasm for working with adolescents
- A deep understanding of adolescent pedagogy and development
- A desire to grow through reflective professional practice
- A desire to build a community of connection and belonging
Range: $42,000 - $85,000 Annualized
