The Physical Education Teacher will provide grade school students a comprehensive academic and physical experience using the Archdiocesan and State of Maryland Physical Education curriculum. She/he is responsible for creating a learning environment that fosters, promotes, and develops an understanding of the relationship of healthy body function exercise, and athletics. This is a full-time, benefits eligible, 10-month teaching position.
Essential Functions
- Maintains high professional standards consistent with the mission of the school and the teaching of the Catholic Church.
- Plans and implements instructional programs with clear objectives in line with the Archdiocese of Baltimore and State of Maryland Standards.
- Creates an instructional environment conducive to learning.
- Maintains accurate and complete records of students' progress and development, in a timely manner.
- Teach physical fitness, individual and team sports, utilizing appropriate learning activities.
- Motivate each student to cultivate physical fitness, and appropriate social and emotional adjustment that discovers and develop talents of students in physical achievement.
- Communicates standards, achievements, and deficiencies to students and parents through email, phone calls, conferences, and electronic grade book.
- Responsible for the safety and active supervision of students both in and outside of the classroom.
Position Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required.
- MSDE Certification or the willingness to obtain certification, required.
- Classroom teaching experience preferred.
- Proficient in using a variety of technology.
- Practicing Catholic preferred.

Range: $43,700 – 59,200, Annualized
Base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, experience for this role, and/or internal equity of our current employees as part of any final offer. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, which is determined upon company and individual performance.
