Archbishop Spalding High School is accepting applications for the position of Spanish teacher for the 2025-2026 academic year. The High School Spanish teacher should be knowledgeable about current instructional strategies and be skilled at creating lessons with high levels of student engagement.
Essential Functions
- Provide grade-appropriate instructional programs for students in grades 9-12.
- Integrates technology in lessons.
- Maintains an attractive, organized, and engaging learning environment.
- Develops lesson plans with clear objectives in line with the Archdiocesan Course of Study.
- Uses data to create differentiated learning experiences.
- Provides grade-appropriate extended or enrichment opportunities.
Position Qualifications
- Knowledge of the Spanish language and culture
- Ability to speak in the target language
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education or Spanish
- Qualifications needed for MSDE secondary certification
- Pedagogical knowledge and experience in teaching the Spanish language at the high school level preferred
- Understanding and appreciation for curriculum development and collaboration
- Strong proficiency in utilizing digital or online platforms, specifically Google Suite and Canvas
- Enthusiasm for working with adolescents
- A deep understanding of adolescent pedagogy and development
- A desire to grow through reflective professional practice
- A desire to build a community of connection and belonging
Range: $42,000 - $85,000 Annualized
