About the Role:
The Construction Superintendent is responsible for executing construction projects by effectively organizing, planning, and overseeing all project tasks. This role involves conducting quality inspections and supervising all project personnel, including staff and subcontractors.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
- 3-5 years of experience as a Construction Superintendent.
- Basic knowledge of Project Management and construction software.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office platforms (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Ability to operate construction equipment such as scissor lifts, forklifts, and boom lifts.
- Capable of interpreting and constructing according to drawings, specifications, and other project documents.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with architects, project managers, consultants, and clients.
- Valid California ID or Driver’s License.
- Ability to pass employment background check and drug screen
Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of the Superintendent include but are not limited to:
- Team Management: Lead and manage the on-site construction team, including coordinating work schedules, monitoring project progress, and allocating resources effectively.
- On-Site Oversight: Oversee and coordinate all activities on the construction site, ensuring that tasks are executed according to plan.
- Production Meetings: Attend and actively participate in production meetings to discuss project status, challenges, and strategies.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that all work meets established quality standards and project specifications.
- Material and Equipment Management: Receive and manage materials and equipment on site, ensuring their proper use and maintenance.
- Timeline Adherence: Follow the project timeline closely to ensure that deadlines are met, and project milestones are achieved.
- Safety and Cleanliness: Monitor on-site safety compliance and maintain cleanliness and orderliness to ensure a safe and organized work environment.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records for site personnel, including daily field reports, field orders, and Requests for Information (RFIs).
- Inspection Liaison: Serve as the primary contact with inspection authorities, facilitating necessary approvals and inspections.
- Cost Estimation: Develop cost estimates for labor, supplies, materials, and other project expenses.
- Budget and Timeline Collaboration: Work closely with clients, Project Managers, and other construction management personnel to determine and adhere to budget and project timelines.
- Material and Equipment Coordination: Coordinate the delivery of materials and equipment with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely availability.
- Management Techniques: Implement cost-effective and efficient management techniques to optimize project execution.
- Scheduling: Create and manage schedules for workers and subcontractors, ensuring efficient workflow and task completion.
- Subcontractor Hiring: Hire additional subcontractors as needed and assign work according to project requirements.
