Job Title: IT Project Management Office (PMO) Consultant

Pay Rate: $60/hour

Location: Torrance, CA (Hybrid)

Job Description

Our client is seeking a skilled IT PMO Consultant to provide operational and strategic project management support. The ideal candidate will play a key role in developing, implementing, and maintaining PMO processes and tools to enhance IT project standardization and governance.

Daily Responsibilities

• Operational PMO Support: Provide ongoing PMO operational support, ensuring process consistency and efficiency.
• Guidelines and Templates: Develop IT project management guidelines and templates to standardize project processes across the IT CF and Division.
• Project Compliance: Review projects for adherence to established processes, including J-Flow, and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Program/Project Management Updates: Support or deliver updates in key project management areas such as:
• Roles and Responsibilities (RACI)
• PMO Activity Checklists
• Financial Management:
• Weekly Financials
• Monthly Financials
• Forecast Event Financials
• Resource Management/Loading
• Project Estimation Process
• Weekly Status Reporting
• Project Governance (Daily, Weekly, Monthly, etc.)
  

Position Success Criteria (Desired Qualifications)

• Experience in IT PMO governance, PMO process management, and related subject matter expertise.
• Background in IT project management with PMP certification preferred.
• Strong IT project financial management experience.
• Ability to identify process gaps and areas for improvement.
• Self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills.
• Proactive work ethic and ability to work independently.
• Strong collaboration skills with the ability to engage with leadership at all levels, including project leads, IT teams, and business departments.
• Experience working with tools such as Clarity PPM, Microsoft Office 365 suite, Microsoft Project, and Visio.
• Familiarity with DevOps collaboration platforms such as Microsoft Azure DevOps or Jira.
• Excellent communication skills.
