Job Description:
- Interpret diverse business requirements into technical Collaboration and Productivity (CAP) solutions framework.
- Provide technology roadmaps governed by strategic direction, business requirements, as well as resourcing and financial constraints.
- Work across multiple vendors and internal partners to produce technically excellent solutions architecture that is aligned to business needs and direction.
- Provide input to technical direction and frameworks to meet business needs. Provide expert consultation for major network initiatives or incidents. Produce and/or endorse network standards.
- Provide guidance and recommendations specific to customer requirements.
- Evaluate emerging technologies against business and IT strategic needs. Serve as a contributor on network initiatives. Update standards and guidelines as requested.
- Review the feasibility of new and existing IT projects. Write technical and business documentation. Lead high-level scoping and costing activities if required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in peer reviews for high and low-level designs.
- Build roadmaps for Migrations and Integrations.
- Ensure LOB and production characteristics are understood.
- Modernize the Voice engineering environment with new technology, software and solutions.
- Responsible for delivery of complex solutions on time and on budget.
- Develop detailed, low-level technical designs for complex Enterprise Voice Solutions.
- Provide L3 support to resolve complex and visible production issues as required.
- Responsible for capacity, security, continuity, and availability management.
- Recommend and leverage tools to ensure effective platform management.
- Provide subject matter expertise to line of business, relationship managers, and network teams including Operations.
- Identify risks and recommend remediation processes.
- Develop and maintain specific architecture blueprints and design standards (in an engineering repository).
- Develop testing strategy and technology certification plan.
- Responsible for tracking emerging technologies and conducting proof-of-concepts for those with applicability to BAC.
- Monitor change management by 3rd Party Vendors for quality deployments.
Qualifications:
- AS, BS, or BA in engineering or computer science (or relevant experience in lieu of).
- 5 years of experience in the networking industry. Experience in the financial industry is preferred.
- Large Migration experience.
- CISCO experience
- MS TEAMS Integration experience a huge plus.
- Ability to thoroughly review, understand, and interpret technology updates for applicability in the environment we support.
- Ability to interact effectively with all levels of customers, vendors, and peers.
- Familiar with technology trends in networking, including but not limited to software-defined networking (SDN), BYOD, SIP session management, etc.
- Expertise in voice technologies including but not limited to SIP Trunking and SIP interworking, voice over IP protocols (H.323/SIP), IP PBX, session management, etc.
- Expertise in SBC, Genesys, Cisco voice platforms, and unified communication and collaboration technologies.
- Expertise in LAN/WAN technologies including but not limited to wired/wireless LAN environments, data center networking, Intranet/extranet environments, load balancing, Hypervisor, Fiber channel, as well as wide area networking technology such as IP/MPLS, SONET/SDH, DWDM technologies, IP Multicast (PIM, MBGP), and Quality of Service environment.
- Experience with networking products such as routers, switches, load balancers, firewalls, and WAN optimization products.
- Knowledge of other vendors such as Juniper, Aruba, Arista, Cisco, and SonRibbon is a plus.
- Maintain and update engineering documentation and standard operating procedures.
- Knowledge of virtualization strategy with on-prem, public cloud, private cloud, and hybrid environments.
- Knowledge of online meeting solutions: Zoom, Webex, Skype, and Teams.
Technical Skills:
- Extensive technical experience working with large VoIP networks using Cisco Voice collaboration platforms and solutions including Call Manager/CUCM, Unity Connection Voice Mail, Jabber, Webex, Webex Teams, MRA, and Expressway.
- Firm understanding of VMware vSphere virtualization with ESXi and vCenter.
- Sound working knowledge of SRTP, RTP, Opus, SCCP, and SIP interworking.
- Broad working knowledge of call routing in complex Fortune 500 companies with QSIG, MGoogle Cloud Platform, CAC, H323, and SIP.
- Firm understanding of TDM, VoIP, and call control disciplines as well as next-generation networks using APIs, WebRTC, and HTML5.
- Session Management knowledge, with experience integrating to Avaya Aura, Cisco SME, Acme, and SonRibbon products.
- SIP and Traditional ISDN/PRI Trunking and broad experience with carrier network, SIP Trunking interworking including RFC standards.
- Sonus Gateway Technology configuration and/or integration experience (2K, 5K, 7K, 9K).
- VLAN experience and configuration, internetworking using BGP, ISIS, and OSPF.
- Extensive understanding of QoS standards and best practices for Real-Time media.
- E911 configuration on Cisco products and West/Intrado.
