Why We Need You

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to oversee the coordination and successful completion of our specialty trade projects. Your role is crucial in ensuring that our work integrates seamlessly into larger construction projects managed by general contractors. With your expertise in Underground Wet Utilities, you will manage schedules, budgets, and communication with GCs, site supervisors, and field crews. You will play a vital role in managing change orders, ensuring quality standards, and upholding our company’s reputation for delivering high-quality work on time and within budget.

Your Regular Responsibilities

  • Project Coordination & Scheduling:
  • Develop and manage detailed schedules for specialty trade work, coordinating with general contractors and other subcontractors to ensure alignment with overall project timelines.
  • Adjust project timelines as necessary based on changes from the general contractor or other project stakeholders, ensuring our work integrates smoothly into the larger project.
  • Budget & Cost Control:
  • Track project budgets, monitor costs, and manage expenses related to materials, labor, and subcontractors to ensure projects remain within financial targets.
  • Review and process change orders, ensuring all modifications are documented and approved by the GC before work proceeds.
  • Work closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate and timely billing, tracking payment applications and collections from GCs
  • Team Leadership & Coordination:
  • Lead and mentor crew leaders, foremen, and field staff to ensure high-quality work and adherence to project specifications.
  • Conduct regular site meetings with field supervisors and crews to review progress, address challenges, and align on project priorities.
  • Provide guidance and support to field teams, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Client & General Contractor Relations:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for general contractors and site supervisors, maintaining open communication and managing expectations.
  • Provide regular progress updates to GCs, addressing any issues promptly and maintaining positive working relationships.
  • Follow up on submitted RFIs and other documentation to facilitate smooth project progression.
  • Quality Control & Safety:
  • Implement trade-specific quality control measures to ensure that all work meets or exceeds industry standards and project specifications.
  • Oversee site safety, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies specific to our trade.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor work quality, safety practices, and ensure alignment with project requirements.
  • Risk Management:
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to address challenges before they impact the project.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes, permits, and trade-specific regulations, managing inspections and certifications as needed.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including change orders, meeting notes, and progress reports.
  • Project Closeout:
  • Oversee trade-specific closeout activities, including punch list management, final inspections, and the preparation of project documentation for handover to the GC
  • Ensure all closeout activities are completed on time, facilitating a smooth transition and maintaining a positive relationship with the GC
  • Conduct post-project reviews to identify lessons learned and opportunities for improvement in future projects.

Your Team for Collaboration & Support

You will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer and work closely with crew leaders, foremen, and other field staff. You will collaborate with general contractors, site supervisors, and internal teams to ensure the successful completion of each project.

Expectations & Outcomes of Your Work

Success in this role means delivering specialty trade work on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Your ability to manage relationships with general contractors, lead your field teams, and ensure compliance with safety and quality requirements will contribute directly to our reputation for excellence and long-term client satisfaction. You will drive project profitability and ensure smooth project delivery, even in the face of challenges.

Technical Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Business, or a related field is preferred. Relevant trade certifications are a plus.
