You will be responsible for coordinating driver schedules, optimizing routes, managing communication, and providing exceptional support to our drivers. Responsibilities :
- Dispatch drivers to pick up and deliver freight, optimizing routes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Monitor driver hours of service (HOS) and ensure compliance with all DOT regulations. Communicate effectively with drivers, providing clear instructions, updates, and support.
- Track shipments and provide real-time updates to customers. Proactively identify and resolve potential delays or issues.
- Manage breakdowns and other emergencies, coordinating repairs and alternative transportation as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of dispatches, driver activity, and equipment status. Build and maintain strong relationships with drivers, customers, and other team members.
- Utilize dispatch software and other technology to manage operations efficiently.
- Negotiate rates with brokers and customers (if applicable).
- Handle any other duties assigned by management.
