Job Summary :
The Payroll and Benefits Administrator is responsible for managing the company’s payroll process and benefits programs to ensure employees are compensated accurately and on time. This role involves processing payroll, administering benefits enrollment, maintaining compliance with labor laws, and assisting employees with payroll or benefits-related inquiries.
Key Responsibilities :
Payroll Administration :
Process payroll on a [weekly / bi-weekly / monthly] basis, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulations.
Maintain payroll records, including timesheets, deductions, and tax withholdings.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax laws.
Handle payroll discrepancies and resolve employee payroll issues.
Generate payroll reports and assist with audits as needed.
Benefits Administration :
Manage employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and other company-sponsored benefits.
Assist employees with benefits enrollment, changes, and terminations.
Communicate benefits information and ensure employees understand their options.
Work with benefits providers to resolve claims or coverage issues.
Ensure compliance with benefits regulations, such as ACA, COBRA, and ERISA.
Compliance & Reporting :
Stay up to date with payroll and benefits laws and regulations.
Prepare and file required payroll tax reports and benefits compliance documents.
Support HR with employee onboarding and offboarding processes.
Maintain confidentiality and secure handling of employee records.
Qualifications & Skills :
Education : Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
Technical Skills : Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paycom, Paylocity) and HRIS systems.
Knowledge : Understanding of payroll tax laws, benefits regulations, and compliance requirements.
Soft Skills : Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills.
Certifications (Preferred) : CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) or PHR (Professional in Human Resources).
