Applewood Dental is seeking a dental assistant to join our practice. We are looking for a self motivated, team player who enjoys learning new aspects of dentistry in a fast paced environment.
- A dental assistant provides chair-side support to the dentist during dental procedures, including patient preparation, instrument sterilization, taking X-rays, assisting with dental treatments, taking digital scans and maintaining patient records, and educating patients and adhering to infection control protocol
Key responsibilities include:
- Welcoming patients, reviewing medical history, preparing them for dental procedures, ensuring comfort during treatment, and providing post-operative instructions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients
- Detail-oriented with strong hand-eye coordination for precise instrument handling
- Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures
- Proficiency in dental software for record keeping and scheduling
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to infection control practices and patient safety
- Radiology license required for taking dental x-rays using digital technology
- Ability to take digital intraoral scans for dental records and dental appliances
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Ability to obtain BLS/CPR certification
- Dental X-ray license
