Systematic Skill Building (SSB) Staff provide both direct and indirect support to individuals with autism in their homes and community settings. SSBs play a key role in fostering community integration, developing social skills, and supporting activities of daily living through systematic approaches based on applied behavioral analysis (ABA) interventions.
Job Purpose:
The SSB position is responsible for implementing skill-building programs and training Community Support (CS) staff and participants based on individualized goals and objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Primary duties include, but are not limited to:
- Develop and maintain Goal Attainment Scaling (GAS) charts and Skill Building Plans (SBPs) as needed
- Provide training and consultation to family members, waiver providers, and other support staff on the purpose, objectives, implementation, and documentation of SBPs
- Participate in and provide feedback at Individualized Support Plan (ISP) meetings
- Assist with direct-care services and support Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
- Report incidents to Case Managers and the Incident Manager as required
- Adhere to company policies and procedures
- Attend monthly SSB Mentor Meetings
- Maintain accurate daily progress notes
- Communicate case concerns, issues, or progress updates with the clinical team, including case managers, clinical coordinator, and/or clinical directors
- Respond to emails within 24-48 hours
- Complete monthly assigned trainings
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education, or a related human services field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Completion of required training developed by BAS on Systematic Skill Building for individuals with ASD, along with other mandatory service-related training
- Reliable transportation with a valid driver’s license, up-to-date car registration, car inspection, and car insurance and a clear criminal background check
- Proficiency in technology and computer applications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals and groups
- Data analysis skills, including the ability to graph and report outcomes
Compensation & Benefits:
- $30-$35 per hour (paid weekly)
- Mileage reimbursement for travel between clients
- $10 daily meal reimbursement for yourself when billing with clients
- $12 event reimbursement
- Full-time position, of 25 hours per week
