Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Systematic Skill Builder to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism, ensuring they receive the assistance to learn new skills they need to thrive. Duties
- Skill Development: Assist participants in acquiring and enhancing skills for greater independence, including daily living, social, and communication skills.Individualized
- Service Planning: Evaluate individual capabilities and tailor support based on goals from the Individualized Service Plan (ISP).
- Goal Attainment Scaling: Develop and maintain Goal Attainment Scaling (GAS) charts and Skill Building Plans (SBPs) to track participant progress.
- Ongoing Support: Provide continuous one-on-one and group support to help participants work towards their skill-building goals.
- Consultative Support: Offer guidance and training to families, caregivers, and support staff on effective strategies for facilitating skill development.
- Monitoring and Adjusting Plans: Regularly assess progress and adjust skill-building strategies as needed to meet the evolving needs of participants.
Skills
- Experience in caregiving or working with individuals with intellectual disabilities is preferred.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal, to effectively interact with clients and their families.
- Ability to assist in data collection for individual assessments and progress tracking.
- Knowledge of medication administration protocols and safety measures.
- A compassionate approach towards assisting individuals in various aspects of their lives.
- Flexibility and adaptability in responding to the changing needs of clients.
