Apprenticely is working with our company partner, the Scott Family Amazeum to add an IT Specialist - Digital Fabricator Intern to their team in Bentonville, Arkansas!
Our Apprenticely Internship Program is a three-month program that places selected candidates with employers across Arkansas in IT positions to gain experience under the guidance of a professional mentor/IT support team. Internships are designed as an on-ramp to an IT career and can roll into full-time positions based on employer demand.
About our Company Partner: The Scott Family Amazeum is a hands-on, interactive museum in Northwest Arkansas and recognized as a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization with a mission to engage the imagination of children and their families through interactive exhibits, programs, and resources while creating an excitement for lifelong learning and the enrichment of lives! They create a fun environment where risk taking, imagining, problem solving, discovery, collaboration, and exploration bring children and adults together to learn and grow!
Through experiences with the Amazeum, individuals and the community are engaged in building relationships and developing identities as creative, curious, and innovative shapers for the region. Learning at the Amazeum is an active, playful exploration that inspires curiosity. It is rooted in inquiry-based discovery and involves an element of risk. Hands-on learning opportunities allow guests to exercise critical thinking in the context of play.

What You'll Do...
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot the makerspace technology suite, including: Industrial-grade 3D printers (Roland and similar systems) Laser cutting equipment, Epson professional printing systems, Vinyl cutter/plotters, CNC fabrication tools
- Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and firmware updates across all equipment
- Manage filament, materials, and supply inventory systems
- Develop and document operating procedures for safe equipment use
- Install, update and support design software including: Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), CAD programs (Fusion 360, TinkerCAD, etc.), 3D modeling software, Specialized software for laser cutting and CNC operations
- Troubleshoot file compatibility issues between programs
- Manage licensing, updates, and user accounts
- Maintain point-of-sale (POS) systems, tablets, and financial tracking tools
- Ensure network connectivity and data security across all devices
- Create integrated workflows between design software and fabrication equipment
- Develop solutions for converting between file formats (SVG, STL, PDF, etc.)
- Configure and maintain cloud storage systems for youth projects and templates
- Develop curriculum for teaching digital fabrication technologies to youth
- Create instructional materials, video tutorials, and technical documentation
- Lead workshops on CAD design, 3D printing, laser cutting, and digital entrepreneurship
- Mentor youth in troubleshooting and problem-solving with technology
- Advanced digital fabrication equipment management and maintenance
- CAD/CAM software administration and troubleshooting
- IT systems support in creative learning environments
- Network administration for makerspace technologies
- Data analysis and visualization techniques
- Technical curriculum development and instruction
- Project workflow optimization and documentation
- Pay: $15/hour
- Schedule: 40-hour week: typically 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday-Friday
- Length of Internship: 3 months
- Location: Bentonville, Arkansas
