Pay Rate: $58/hr
Duration: 13 weeks
Expected Shift: 8am-5pm, 40 hrs/week
Job Summary
The position will be located position at Providence, RI 02904 except Thursdays which will be in East Greenwich, RI 02818.
We are looking for a cardiac device specialist to work in outpatient CVI. Open to someone with Cath Lab Tech (RCIS) experience. Under the supervision of the Clinical Manager provide thorough proficient interrogation and re-programming in person remotely and/or via phone transmission to patients with cardiac implantable electrical devices (CIEDs). Responsible for initial device analysis preliminary report generation and alerting physician or non-physician practitioner to urgent issues requiring further attention.

Responsibilities
- Interrogate interpret and re-program cardiac devices with minimal physician supervision.
- Trouble shoot critical device issues and take immediate steps toward resolution.
- Collaborate with physicians regarding device status and accurately document device analysis in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) for review.
- Educate patients on all aspects of their device including remote monitoring and follow-up protocol.
- Ensure charges are accurately captured for device interrogation.
- Schedule patients for device appointment follow up in EMR and remote website. Immediately contact “no show” patients to ensure they are re-scheduled.
- Assist nurses and non-physician practitioners in the delivery of patient teaching.
- Travel to associate offices for assigned device clinics.
- Participate in positive proactive inter- and intra-departmental communication. Promote a healthy clinical environment and good working relationships.
- Serve as resource to physicians and other practice employees regarding device patients and services.
- Keep equipment in good working condition and notify appropriate personnel of problem areas or safety issues.
- Ensure programming rooms are adequately stocked with necessary supplies.
- Participate in professional development activities and maintain professional affiliations.
- Expected to identify process improvement ideas and contribute to creating solutions.
- At least one year of recent experience reviewing and managing in person and remote device transmissions.
- Some clinical experience with exposure to cardiology would be required
- Current AHA BLS certification required.
- Bachelor’s degree (health-related) strongly preferred
- International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners device exam (IBHRE) or Certified Cardiac Device Specialist (CCDS) from a recognized device training school preferred.
