Job Summary
Aptive is seeking a full-time Council Administrator Lead. The Veterans Health Administration (VHA) is America’s largest integrated health care system, providing care at 1,293 health care facilities, including 171 medical centers and 1,112 outpatient sites of care of varying complexity (VHA outpatient clinics), serving 9 million enrolled Veterans each year.
The Council Administrator Lead will help design and implement a lean, responsive and rapid decision-making model supporting VHA Office of Health Informatics (OHI) EHRM within the current VHA governance structure. This individual will also provide decision management, research and analysis, program management and communications support.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage Council Administrators within a specific EHR Council Pillar (Clinical, Ancillary, or Business) and ensure program objectives are met:
- Support Council Support Unit (CSU) administrative needs.
- As part of the Council Command rotation, monitors EHR Council Command shared Outlook mail.
- Support National Council Events such as validation, testing, workshops, and others as needed.
- Receive all inputs from internal and external stakeholders and assign work to appropriate Councils
- Coordinate cross-Council communications
- Defines and communicates deadlines and priorities
- Communicate and align where appropriate with Department of Defense(DoD) and other federal communities
- Provide Council performance data as required by VHA leadership and/or EHRM-IO
- Provide day-to-day administrative and project management support to the Councils
- Ensure Councils adhere to enterprise standards
- Coordinate and lead monthly cross-Council meetings with Council Co-Chairs to discuss current activities, action items and task completion
- Facilitate the escalation of Councils decisions/issues when necessary
Minimum Qualifications
- 7 years of relevant experience
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
- Prior experience managing/leading a team
- Prior clinical experience
- Ability to interact and engage with executive-level stakeholders
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint
- Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
- Ability to work onsite in Washington, D.C.
Desired Qualifications
- A Clinical, Medical, or Nursing License (MD, RN, LPN etc)
- Oracle Cerner experience
- Experience supporting EHRM projects
- Knowledge of military and Veteran populations
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
- Proven ability to organize, prioritize and work well with others
- Ability to communicate thoughts, ideas and solutions logically both written and orally
- Ability to get up to speed quickly on complex issues
- Desire to work in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment
- Capable self-starter with a drive to get all types of work done and high attention to detail
Client Information
EHRM is a major executive program office in the Office of Health Informatics (OHI). This office reports to the Chief Informatics Officer (CIO) for VHA and supports a high reliability, learning health organization. Its mission is to improve the Veterans experience and provide health care staff with information and solutions for better decision workflows. OHI directs the coordinating efforts of the VHA EHRM Decision Support Team, facilitates the work of the VHA EHRM Interdisciplinary Decision-Making Group, and integrates the work of the VHA EHRM National Councils into VHA’s overall coordinated execution of EHRM efforts.
