Responsible for accounts payable, participant payroll, and banking. Provides accurate, helpful and timely customer service to meet the needs of internal and external Arc customers.

Reporting Responsibilities:

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and 5-7 years related work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Accounting, financial analysis and budgeting experience within a large, complex nonprofit organization
Prior supervisory experience
Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)

Responsible for accounts payable, participant payroll, and banking. Provides accurate, helpful and timely customer service to meet the needs of internal and external Arc customers.
Essential Functions:
- Assists with month-end closing procedures including completion of general ledger account reconciliations and preparation of the Board of Directors packet for CFO’s review.
- Assists with annual audit, pension audit, CFR, budgeting, and other reporting and analysis as required.
- Responsible for overseeing accounts payable, including check, ACH and credit card payments, as well as allocations and 1099 processing.
- Assists with financial analysis to support the organization’s priorities.
- Recommend and implement improvements to financial policies and procedures.
- Developing, maintaining and evaluating a strong environment of internal controls, including documentation of policies and procedures.
- Responsible for overall accuracy of financial information including expense coding.
- Participates in quality assurance and compliance activities as assigned.
- Other related duties as assigned.

Reporting Responsibilities:

Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Hire, manage, evaluate the Accounts Payable Specialist, Accounts Payable Clerk, Junior Accountant
- Strong accounting background to include, but is not limited to; general ledger, adjusting journal entries, reconciliation, audits, IRS, Medicaid, and 401(k).
- Proactively develop staff through activities including, but not limited to, goal setting, performance appraisals, regular coaching sessions.
- Sets tone for proactive, timely, high-quality work, delivered with accuracy, integrity, continuous improvement and excellent customer service.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and advanced formulas.
- Ability to build relationships across various functional areas with the capability to influence and collaborate.
- Ability to thrive in a rapidly changing environment, managing multiple shifting priorities.
- Ability to work with people of varying backgrounds including workforce, families and people receiving services.
