Summary/Objective
The Human Resources Specialist performs support and administrative activities for full cycle recruiting processes including but not limited to job requisition, posting, candidate selection steps, background check, on-boarding and new staff orientation, data entry, HRIS and payroll related recordkeeping, filing and other HR related programs. Develop and produce HR related reports. This role must understand and support ARC’s mission and core values.
Essential Functions/Job Duties

- Provides routine tasks required for full cycle recruiting processes for the agency including job requisition and posting, candidate management, background check, on-boarding and new staff orientation.
- Completes the candidate pre-employment and on-boarding requirements including but not limited to completion of background checks, employment and professional references, drug screening, physical exam, and required documentation. Ensures all pre-employment requirements are met prior to the scheduled orientation day.
- Responsible for coordinating new employee onboarding, including new staff orientation schedules, ordering equipment, and conducting HRIS new hire training.
- Completes onboarding processes, hiring into the HRIS and other relevant screening systems as well as prepares documentation for payroll.
- Coordinates and administers internal promotions and transfers filled through the requisition process.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Monitors recruiting email inbox, responding appropriately to email inquiries.
- Supports scheduling and posting of social media for recruitment and agency branding.
- Maintains ATS information, delivers routine open position, onboarding and metrics reporting. Responds to basic ad hoc data reports.
- Follows up with new hires and supervisors on completion of orientation training documents for filing.
- Responsible for filing new hire and onboarding documents into appropriate employee files, ensuring record compliance.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations and company policies.
- Provides ongoing administrative support, as needed, to general Human Resources operations and special projects
- Other duties as assigned.
Eligibility Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two (2) years of human resources including recruiting experience
- Bachelor’s degree in human resource management preferred

Required Licensure and Certifications
Possess and maintain a valid State of Ohio Driver’s License; meet and maintain insurability standards to drive for company business.
Work Environment
This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.
Physical Demands

While performing the duties of the job, the employee is required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk and hear. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Hours are generally worked Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 pm. This position must be available to provide support at other times as needed. Travel is primarily local during the business day.
