Overall responsibility :
Investigating and dispositioning material produced in all ArcelorMittal North America plants for the customers in his / her assigned territory. He / she must have knowledge of each mill and their products. The Engineer evaluates material through inspection at the customer's plant and submits samples to mill laboratories to determine source causes.
Enters claims into various claim systems. He / she works with Accounting and Finance to resolve debit and payment issues. Thorough knowledge of the ArcelorMittal North America terms of sale and claims policy are a plus.
Assists in developing corrective action responses to the customer when required and communicates customer requirements to mill personnel for improvement activities. He / she evaluates inventories for possible liabilities.
Works closely with Sales, Customer Service, Research and other areas of the company to provide the best service and technical assistance to the customer. They will assists the customer and the Commercial organization in choosing appropriate products to meet the customer's requirements.
Participation in cost savings initiatives at the customer's facility may be required.
Will be responsible for dispositioning material at processors representing the interests of ArcelorMittal.
Must have good communication skills, both verbal and written and have the ability to interact with the customer and other departments at ArcelorMittal.
They must be self-motivated and have the ability to work independently.
Working knowledge of steel defects and their origins is required.
Travel is required, both local and overnight. The amount of travel will vary with territory.
What you’ll need : Education
Minimum high school
Preferered
Bachelor’s degree Engineering (Materials / Metallurgical)
Requirements
5 years of flat rolled processing or equivalent experience
Knowledge of pipe and tube, automotive, preprinted products and appliance market
Required skills
Experience with Claims Processing & Financial Coordination
Knowledge of Sales Terms & Claims Policy
Problem-Solving & Corrective Action Development
Ability to assess inventories for potential liabilities
