What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Manager - CNC Cutting Tools position at ARCH?
ARCH Cutting Tools Flushing is seeking a key player to join our team as a Quality Manager. The QM will take the current quality department to the next level, implement a Quality Management System, understand CMM programming and reports, manual measuring techniques as well as have demonstrated leadership and strong people skills. The ideal candidate will have machine job shop experience with a strong understanding in tooling and also have demonstrated a progressive career path in a quality department. Comprehensive salary and benefits will be provided.
Summary: Oversee all inspection activities including incoming, first piece, in-process and final inspections to ensure final product meets all company and customer requirements. Will assist with the creation of creating QMS program and implementation. Must have a strong knowledge in checking parts via various equipment as well as Quality Management Systems. Experience in Cutting Tools strongly desired.
- Advanced blueprints reading
- Capable of making precise measurements with an array of inspection equipment
- Capable of programming, operating and interpreting reports using a Mitutoyo CMM
- Possess strong math skills
- GD&T experience a plus
- Strong understanding of ISO 9001 standard, auditing experience a plus
- Able to lead the ISO Certification Process
- Intermediate or higher computer skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 programs, Email use and management, Data entry, Create Spreadsheets
- Tool Calibration experience. Capable of using calibration software (GageTrak)
- Certifying the product meets industry standards as well as blueprint.
- 8D Problem Solving
- Monitor non-conforming parts and create reports/data as needed.
- Report inspections and test data, and watch for trends
- Lean background a plus

Education and/or Experience:
• A 4-year degree or 5 years of relative experience required.
• Requires great attention to detail and the ability to read drawings and specifications
• Previous experience machining or quality inspection required

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Reasoning Ability:
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
