Position Summary:
Promote the mission of National Pastoral Migratoria (NPM) and support its communications and growth nationally. Born in the Archdiocese of Chicago, Pastoral Migratoria ® (PM) is a parish-based immigrant social ministry of service, justice and accompaniment that is currently in five U.S. dioceses. Collaborate with team to strengthen NPM’s identity, digital presence, community building, and collaborative work among dioceses and to grow constituent membership and participation in learning events. Support NPM’s digital platforms, including website, social media, e-newsletters, and database management.
Responsibilities:
Communications
1. Manage NPM’s brand while strengthening brand and messaging standards.
2. Manage, design, develop content for and publish NPM’s print and electronic communications, including brochures, newsletters, annual reports, and fundraising campaigns.
3. Manage, design, and develop content for NPM’s website and other digital platforms.
4. Serve as quality control and editor for NPM’s print materials, website, and other digital platforms.
5. Develop, manage, strategize, and monitor NPM’s social media platforms.
6. Manage marketing and promotion for NPM’s annual initiatives (e.g. national institute).
7. Support the development and implementation of NPM’s annual initiatives.
8. Maintain and support the ongoing development of an online library of resources.
9. Assist in data gathering and reporting for communications and fundraising.
10. Other duties as assigned.
Public Media & Relations
1. Promote NPM to the Catholic sector, policymakers, and the public.
2. Develop and manage content, messaging, and storytelling about the immigrant community for internal and external stakeholders.
3. Develop and carry out media strategy, including developing and driving media calendar, media relations, and tracking press coverage.
4. Promote NPM to Catholic dioceses in the U.S. and its staff in the media.
Requirements:
1. Demonstrate understanding and support for the Catholic Church’s teaching, mission, and values. Must be Catholic and demonstrate understanding, respect and support of the Catholic Church teaching, mission and values.
2. Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing/PR, or a related field.
3. Fully bilingual (Spanish/English) with strong written and oral communication skills.
4. Minimum of 3-5 years of work experience in communications/marketing, preferably in a pastoral context; personal or professional history with immigrant communities is preferred.
5. Committed to the Church’s social mission; knowledge of immigration issues is preferred.
6. Proficiency with social media (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube) and videoconferencing.
7. Goal-driven “self-starter” who can multi-task and adapt to sudden changes/challenges.
8. Strong leadership, interpersonal, and collaboration skills
9. Excellent planning and organizational skills.
10. Proficiency in the MS Office Suite. Experience with Constituent Relationship Management (CRM) databases and email marketing platforms (e.g. MailChimp)
11. Willing to travel as needed. This position is based in Chicago, IL.

This position has an annualized salary range of $53,446 - $65,472. An employee’s pay within the salary range will be based on many factors including but not limited to: relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and organizational needs.
