What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Discipleship Formation position at Archdiocese of Detroit?
The Lumen Christi Family of Parishes is hiring a Director of Discipleship Formation. The Director will report to the Moderator of the Family of Parishes and will be responsible for the following:
- Identify, recruit, and provide on-going formation for catechists/volunteers.
- Providing guidance and direction for catechesis for multiple age groups within the parishes, to include children, young adult, and adult faith formation.
- Coordinates/supervises sacramental preparation programs.
- Collaborates with Catholic School Principal and applicable staff regarding catechetical programs within the school.
- Will be a resource for catechetical programs within each parish.
- Supervise parish coordinators as applicable.
Qualifications:
- Must be an actively practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church who accepts all Church teachings and morals.
- Master's Degree in Theology (MA, MAPS, or MDiv) or Catechetics is preferred.
- Strong and developed knowledge of catechetical principles.
- Youth Ministry and/or Adult Formation experience is required.
- Advanced Catechist Certification through the Archdiocese of Detroit is required.
- Previous catechetical and sacramental preparation experience is required.
- Previous managerial/leadership experience is required.
