We are seeking a qualified School Counselor to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with students and their families, a strong commitment to our Catholic mission, and a deep understanding of the unique needs of students from diverse backgrounds.
Responsibilities
-Individual, Group, and Family Counseling: Provide comprehensive counseling services to students, addressing a wide range of issues such as academic concerns, social challenges, family difficulties, and emotional well-being.
-Collaboration: Work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, parents, and other school staff to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
Prevention and Intervention Programs: Develop and implement prevention programs and interventions to address common student concerns, such as bullying, substance abuse, and mental health issues.
-Crisis Management: Respond effectively to crisis situations, providing immediate support to students and families in need and coordinating with appropriate school and community resources.
-Community Outreach: Build relationships with community organizations and resources to connect students and families with additional support services.
Qualifications
Education and Experience: Master's degree in counseling, social work, or a related field. Licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Indiana. At least some experience working with children and adolescents in a school setting is preferred.
Skills and Abilities: Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational and time management abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Knowledge of child development, counseling theories, and crisis intervention techniques.
Commitment to Catholic Mission: Deep understanding of and commitment to the Catholic faith and mission. Ability to integrate faith-based principles into counseling practice.
