As IT Infrastructure Engineer, you will part of our Group IT team (headquartered in Witten, Germany), providing support from a regional base (ARDEX Americas). This is an excellent opportunity to work on a multitude of local and global projects and initiatives. This position reports to the IT & Customer Service Manager, Americas, and is located at our corporate offices, 20 minutes north of Pittsburgh International Airport. German language skills is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Ensure operational efficiencies in IT infrastructure at the Witten location and in the cloud (Microsoft Azure)
- Ensure the availability of all services, from networks and firewalls to virtualization and storage. Coordinate and carry out maintenance work and updates
- Plan and implement upgrades and migrations of IT systems and applications to the cloud (MS Azure or as a SaaS service).
- Maintain documentation of IT infrastructure processes and procedures
- Optimize solutions to help shape group-wide standards for secure on-premise and cloud operations
- Collaborate and support IT teams Globally specialist departments through qualified error analysis and troubleshooting in connection with the IT infrastructure.
- Minimum 4 (four) year degree in computer science or related field
- Minimum 5 years demonstrable work experience
- Demonstrable knowledge or VMware ESXi, Cisco switches and Fortigate firewalls, NetApp storage, Windows server and client systems, Linux distributions (Debian, RedHat, SuSE), Cato Networks, Microsoft Azure
- Solution driven with efficient problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively
- Global mindset
- Curious mindset with a continuous interest in learning new technologies
- German language skills is a plus
