Position Summary:


Ariel Alternatives is seeking a motivated Sales Operations Specialist who is responsible for optimizing the efficiency and effectiveness of the sales team. This role involves analyzing sales data, developing and implementing sales strategies, and managing CRM systems to ensure accurate and up-to-date information. The specialist collaborates with various departments to streamline processes, improve sales performance, and support business growth. Key responsibilities include generating sales reports, identifying trends, and providing actionable insights to drive revenue. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in sales software are essential for success in this role


This position is based in our New York City office.


Responsibilities:


  • Maintain and manage accurate and detailed records in the Client Relationship Management System, and ensure sales teams are properly equipped with the right tools (reporting tools, Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.).
  • Develop and deepen relationships at assigned focus firms with relationship management, research, platform, marketing, sales, and other firm leaders such as regional directors and their teams.
  • Collaborate with research, consultant relations, client service, and sales colleagues to share market and business intelligence.
  • Keen awareness of and compliance with all applicable industry regulations.
  • Provide Overall Guidelines sales processes and workflows to improve efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to ensure alignment in strategies, goals, and targets.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to maximize the effectiveness of the sales cycle.
  • Ensure data integrity by updating sales records and ensuring accuracy in customer information.
  • Generate reports and dashboards to track sales performance and provide actionable insights for the sales team.
  • Prepare regular and ad-hoc sales reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Analyze sales trends and forecasts to provide insights that support strategic decisions.
  • Assist in the creation of sales forecasts, territory management, and revenue projections.
  • Provide administrative support to sales teams, including contract generation, pricing quotes, and proposal templates.
  • Work with sales leaders to identify training needs and help create programs that enhance team performance.
  • Support the onboarding of new sales representatives by providing training on sales tools and processes.
  • Act as a liaison between the sales, finance, marketing, and customer service teams to ensure smooth operations.
  • Coordinate with various departments to address issues related to sales execution, customer support, and contract administration.
  • Assist in the management and implementation of sales campaigns, promotions, and incentive programs.
  • Train the sales team on new tools, systems, or updates to enhance efficiency.


Qualifications:


Experience:

  • 2 years of experience in sales operations, sales support, or a related role.
  • Experience with CRM software (Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.).
  • Strong data analysis and Excel skills.


Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).


Skills:

  • Minimum of 2 years of institutional sales related administrative experience.
  • Prior experience in a business development environment strongly preferred.
  • Track record of excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organized & dependable person with keen attention to detail.
  • Self-starter who needs minimal supervision, exercises good judgement, basic reasoning skills and has the ability to multi-task without errors.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Knowledge of sales processes and the sales funnel.
  • Commitment to excellence and delivering world class results.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities with ease.
  • Prior history of working with private and sensitive information and maintaining full confidentiality.
  • Experience in investments/asset management is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel).
  • Proficient in CRM systems a very strong plus.


Preferred:

  • Familiarity with sales automation tools.
  • Experience in report generation and business intelligence tools.

Base Salary:

$110,000 (dependent on skills, experience, and competencies)
