What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant/Front Desk Receptionist position at Arizona Heart Rhythm Center/Prescott Heart?
We are in search of an extraordinary Front & Back Office Medical Assistant for our cardiology specialty practice!
We have several offices throughout the Phoenix area and in Prescott. As a Front & Back Office Medical Assistant your duties may include:
- Scheduling and coordinating ancillary appointments for patients.
- Directing patient and provider flow during clinic operations
- Jumping in where needed including rooming patients, obtaining vitals, performing EKGs, and setting up heart monitors
- Answering patient questions and addressing concerns; providing information about procedures and tests
- Ensuring all daily processes and tasks are completed including scheduling, medical records, prescription requests, and insurance verifications
- Serving as the liaison to front office, billing staff, and Practice Manager
- Welcome patients and visitors by greeting, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries.
- Optimize patient satisfaction by effectively communicating between the provider and patient.
- Keeping patient appointments on schedule by notifying the provider of patient's arrival; reviewing service delivery compared to schedule; reminding provider of service delays.
- Comforting patients by anticipating patients' anxieties; answering patients' questions; maintaining a clean and organized reception area.
- Ensuring availability of treatment information by filing and retrieving patient records.
- Maintaining patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information.
- Protect patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information.
- Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of back office medical experience
- Medical Assistant Certification/Diploma a MUST!
- Able to multi-task, learn quickly, and work efficiently
- Dependable and hard-working
- Team player with a positive attitude
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel to multiple clinics
- Knowledge of Athena EMR is preferred
- Telephone Skills, Customer Service, Time Management, Organization, Attention to Detail, Scheduling, Word Processing, and Professionalism.
Full-Time Monday through Friday with some Saturdays required
Compensation is dependent on experience and job requirements
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
