Job Title: Financial Aid Analyst

Summary

The Financial Aid Analyst will provide, obtain, process, and package student financial aid information and coordinate the compilation of data for various financial aid programs. This role is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Offer financial aid through processing applications, budgeting, packaging, adjusting, verifying data, and providing general advising to students and parents.
• Provide information, guidance, and other resources to potential and current students, parents, staff, faculty, off-campus agencies, and high school counselors.
• Determine student eligibility for financial aid based on academic progress.
• Assist students and parents with completion of the Free Application for Student Financial Aid (FAFSA).
• Offer financial aid presentations to a variety of populations (high school students and counselors, A-State students and faculty, others as requested).

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Knowledge of supervisory practices and procedures, student financial aid programs, standards and procedures, counseling and interviewing techniques, and principles and practices of money management.
• Ability to review and evaluate student financial needs and prepare appropriate financial aid package, disseminate information orally and in writing, collect, analyze, compile, and record data on financial aid, and supervise the work of subordinates.

8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Additional hours as requested and/or needed
Regular and reliable attendance

Requirements

• The formal education equivalent of an earned Bachelor's Degree
• Other job-related education or experience may be substituted for all or parts of these basic requirements upon approval of the qualifications review committee
