GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for supporting the accounting functions of the company to include financial reporting, project accounting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and the ability to work closely with project managers and senior management to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform full cycle accounting tasks, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
- Provide support during financial, tax and 401(k) audits and tax return preparation.
- Utilize Viewpoint software to process financial transactions and maintain accurate records.
- Ensure compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations, GAAP, and other relevant accounting standards.
- Manage accounts payable processes, including reviewing invoices, processing payments and maintaining vendor relationships.
- Reviews and documents present accounting practices and procedures.
- Reconcile bank statements and resolve any discrepancies.
- Contribute to special financial projects as needed.
- Stay updated on industry regulations.
- Other tasks as assigned.
EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- Three (3) years’ progressive accounting experience, preferably in the construction industry.
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience using Vista or Viewpoint software.
- Working knowledge of Sage accounting software.
- Strong knowledge of FAR and GAAP.
- Previous construction accounting experience preferred.
- Familiarity with USACE (U.S. Army Corp of Engineers) project accounting is highly desired.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks are required.
- Self-motivated and team oriented.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
