Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee financial operations for construction projects, including budget creation, cost analysis, and financial reporting
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP and accrual accounting principles
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes
- Conduct financial audits to ensure compliance with internal policies and SOX regulations
- Monitor project costs, track expenses, and ensure adherence to budgets
- Review and process contractor bills, invoices, and purchase orders
- Collaborate with corporate accounting teams to analyze financial data and identify trends
- Assist in the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with relevant laws
- Provide support in wills, trusts, and estate law matters as needed
- Coordinate with project managers, suppliers, and external parties
- Handle office administrative tasks and support project teams as needed
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Proven experience in construction accounting, administration, and financial auditing
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, including accrual accounting and GAAP
- Proficiency in Excel, SupplyPro/BuildPro, Quicken, and other relevant accounting software
- Familiarity with SOX compliance requirements
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and handle stress effectively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration across departments
