Summer School High School Social Studies Credit Recovery Teacher

JOB DESCRIPTION: Professional Day and Orientation: July 2, 2025 Program Dates: July 7, 2025 - August 1, 2025 Location: Washington-Liberty High School Model: IN-PERSON RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities Include : Provide instruction for students in identified social studies curriculum Provide differentiation of instructional content based on the needs of individual students Participate in planning and professional learning before summer school Collaborate with staff regarding implementation of instruction, use of assessments and assessment results Development and implementation of differentiated curriculum EXPERIENCE: Experience: Experience teaching students from diverse backgrounds Experience with personalized learning strategies Experience teaching social studies courses QUALIFICATIONS: Preferred Qualifications : Virginia Licensed Secondary Social Studies Certification Willingness to work as a team in planning for instruction, grouping students and administering pre- and post assessments based on SOL requirements Willingness to participate in curriculum planning and professional learning prior to the beginning of summer school CONTACT INFORMATION: HISTORY AND SOCIAL STUDIES TEACHERS Credit Recovery: US/VA Government US/VA History EPF World Hist. & Geog.II APPLY TO: Candidates should contact the summer 2025 Site-Based Administrator or Christine Joy at christine.joy@apsva.us if interested in this position or have any questions. SALARY: Summer School Teachers who are APS employees during the year will be paid the hourly rate or $36.68 per hour., whichever is higher.
