Job Overview
Armentrout Matheny Thurmond, PC is a creative architecture, design, and engineering, consulting services firm. We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper/Administrative Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our daily operations with administrative tasks, invoicing clients and creating financial reports for Project Managers. This position is perfect for someone who has experience in accounting ( construction or design consulting firm is a plus but not necessary), has strong communication skills, and is comfortable working with management and clients. We are willing to train the right person.
Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to ensure efficient office operations.
- Assist with bookkeeping tasks including maintaining accurate financial records.
- Process accounts payable and manage vendor invoices.
- Utilize accounting software (our office uses Ajera for engineering and architectural firms).
- Perform data entry tasks.
- Prepare and maintain financial reports.
- Handle incoming calls, emails, and correspondence in a professional manner.
- Maintain filing systems and ensure all documents are properly stored and accessible.
Skills
- Proficiency in accounting software; we will train on Ajera.
- Strong understanding of debits and credits.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask effectively while managing time efficiently.
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel preferred.
