Job Title: Job Coach/Employment Specialist
Position Overview:
The Job Coach/Employment Specialist works with individuals with disabilities to secure and maintain meaningful employment. This role is ideal for candidates with a background in special education, teaching, or paraprofessional support who are passionate about networking, community engagement, and fostering positive relationships. The position blends hands-on job coaching with role modeling and supervision across various community sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Employment Skills Development:
- Assist individuals in developing and maintaining employment skills through both volunteer and paid employment training.
- Role model appropriate work habits, behaviors, and professional interactions—both physically and through written communication.
- Community and Employer Engagement:
- Network and build strong relationships with community members, employers, and agency customers.
- Develop and maintain a positive rapport with individuals in programming and the broader community.
- Site Supervision and Support:
- Serve as the on-site supervisor for assigned community sites.
- Oversee job placement, provide on-the-job coaching, and facilitate a structured fading process to empower individuals to work independently.
- Program Coordination:
- Coordinate with local employers and training programs to ensure a seamless transition for participants.
- Monitor progress, provide feedback, and adjust strategies to meet individual employment goals.
- Manage a case load of 20-25 clients
Required Qualifications:
- Background in special education, teaching, human services, or as a paraprofessional is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to build and nurture relationships within the community.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in related fields.
- Ability to serve as a role model for professional work habits and behaviors.
Work Schedule and Benefits:

Minimum Requirements:
· High School Diploma
· Able to meet and maintain Arnold Center and funding jurisdiction current requirements for criminal background, drug testing and records check.
· Must be able to successfully complete First Aide, CPR Certification
· Successfully complete funding source required training
