Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Oversees the operations of the Accounting Department, which include accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and payroll.
- Oversees training programs and identifies training needs.
Essential Functions:
- Develop and maintain an effective department through the selection, training, compensation, scheduling, motivation, termination and review of regular, seasonal and supervisory personnel to ensure department needs and excellent customer service levels are met or exceeded.
- Responds to and resolves customer complaints in a prompt and efficient manner to minimize customer inconvenience and maximize the Association’s image with the customer.
- Coordinates professional development needs of the department, and entire organization as needed/required, regarding industry trade organizations.
- Responsible for coordination of emergency response actions or schedules as outlined in the Association EAP plan.
- Directs the establishment and implementation of financial controls, accounting policies, procedures (general ledger to include billing, collections, cash processing, accounts payable, payroll, and fixed assets), budgets, required filings, associated analysis and report preparation for the Association.
- Oversee the collection activities of the Association.
- Analyzes current company policies and procedures to determine financial impact on the Association and recommends appropriate strategic goals and budgeting forecasts.
- Evaluates and makes improvements to accounting processes while ensuring that practices comply with Association accounting policies and applicable laws and regulations.
- Provides cash management services by maximizing investment income within the parameters of the Association’s investment policy as well as developing forecasts and financial models for specific projects and financial planning undertaken by the Association.
- Ensures all financial and tax reports are prepared accurately as required to comply with external reporting requirements. Maintain all corporate financial records/logs.
- Trains and assists all departments with annual budget preparation and prepares supporting reports/products for the process.
- Coordinate activities and support the external auditor for the annual financial audit. Presents findings and recommendations to the General Manager.
- Budget creation for assigned cost center(s), analysis, and reporting for the department as well as attendance of committee and board meetings as needed.
- Ensure that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhered to approved budgets through regular meetings with staff and other relevant departments.
- Keeps abreast of changes in governmental rules and regulations as well as industry trends. Acts as a liaison with external vendors and coordinates contracts for services within budgetary and Association guidelines.

Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work experience or combination of.
Experience: 3-5 years in a related field with 1-3 years supervisory experience.
Monday through Friday 8am to 4pm, once a month Saturday's from 8am until the Board Meeting is over (usually around 12pm). Occasional evenings (6:30 pm to 8 or 9 PM) for Board and Committee meetings, which are Virtual.
