Summary:
Arrowmark LLC is seeking a Controller to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in strategic planning and development of the accounting department, will be hands-on, will have multi-company experience, experience in acquisitions and integrating companies is helpful, experience in accounting software conversions, and the ability to adapt to new situations positively. The Controller works collaboratively with executives, department heads, and personnel to drive financial success for the company.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversees the operations of the Accounting Department, which include accounts payable, accounts receivable, job costing responsibilities, and a variety of reconciliations.
- Responsible for producing and overseeing financial statements such as: balance sheets, profit & loss and cashflows.
- Works closely with the HR Department to ensure the accuracy of a weekly payroll cycle. Provides guidance, when necessary, conducts checks and balances, transfers funds and conducts other accounting activities as required.
- Works closely with the HR Department on 401k functions including the annual audit and 5500.
- Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of internal controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.
- Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards.
- Recommends benchmarks that will be used to measure the company's performance.
- Produces the annual budget and forecasts; reports significant budget differences to management.
- Works with external auditors and the HR Department to provide needed support and information for audits including 401k, Worker's Compensation, General Liability Insurance and more.
- Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
- Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required.
- 5- 7 years or more experience in the construction industry required.
- Excellent management and supervisory skills.
- Has the ability to lead, develop, maintain, and mentor an accounting team in a positive manner.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient in accounting software.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrates integrity, the ability to be discreet and maintain confidentiality, flexibility, sound judgment, strong intuitive skills, and is results driven.
- Ability to establish priorities and accomplish multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- This is a safety sensitive position that requires a drug screen.
- Valid AZ driver license and an acceptable MVR.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit for long periods of time, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and telephone. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work. Light to moderate lifting is required.
