Position: Institutional Giving Associate

ArtOps is a nonprofit organization providing a shared services model of administration, management and operations support for small to medium size Arts nonprofits. Who we’re looking for:
The Institutional Giving Associate has a strong interest in a career in development, a background in classical music, loves to write and is extremely organized and detail oriented. This individual will work full-time servicing ArtOps and its partners, Detroit Chamber Winds & Strings and the Great Lakes Chamber Music Festival, as well as other client organizations. While involved in many development activities, the Institutional Giving Associate primarily focuses on institutional funders, including businesses, government, and foundations.
Job Qualifications:
- A college degree in the performing or liberal arts, or commensurate professional experience
- A strong appreciation for performing arts, especially music
- The ability to interact effectively, with discretion and independent judgment, with a sophisticated constituency
- Exceptionally strong writing skills
- Attention to detail and strong editing skills
- Knowledge of fundraising techniques and strategies
- Confidence in effectively communicating across a wide variety of platforms, including telephone, web, and written and in-person solicitations/presentations
- Strong project management skills
- Demonstrable initiative, strong problem resolution and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in an unsupervised environment.
Preferred:
- Relevant experience in grant writing and other written solicitation vehicles.
Job Responsibilities:
- Work with ArtOps leadership to build strong relationships with the institutional funding community for ArtOps, its partners and clients
- Lead the grant research, writing, submission and compliance efforts for ArtOps and its partners, providing consulting and grant submission support to ArtOps’ clients as appropriate
- Oversee grant tracking, reporting, and evaluation efforts
- Play a lead role in the relationship building, soliciting and follow-up with corporate funders
- Oversee fulfillment of donor benefits for individual and institutional supporters
- Assist in the successful execution of the partner Annual Fund solicitations and special events each year as needed, and provide consulting to ArtOps’ clients where appropriate
- Support the overall efforts of the development team efforts
- Participate in ArtOps staff planning and team activities, and execute other duties as assigned
Hours:
This is a 40 hour per week position, currently hybrid, requiring occasional nights and weekend concert coverage (schedule set with staff and successful candidate upon hire).
Salary:
This position has an expected Salary Range of $40,000-$45,000 plus benefits.
