Primary Purpose:
Performs a variety of technical and analytical classification and compensation activities related to the maintenance of ARUP’s compensation plans. Works closely with HR Business Partners in managing and administering compensation programs that support business objectives and rewards employees for performance. Maintains and ensures consistent application of the organization’s compensation philosophy for all job classifications and/or other related activities while ensuring all compensation programs are competitive and legally compliant.

Essential Functions:
Prepare salary quotes for internal and external candidates.
Assists with analysis of jobs, hourly wages, salaries, and incentives to evaluate internal equity, external competitiveness, and legal compliance of the organization's pay practices.
Uses published surveys in additional to other established and approved data sets to obtain and analyze market pay rates. Makes recommendations on appropriate pay grade level and FLSA status. Reviews recommendations within ARUP for internal equity. Prepares reports on findings and handles administrative steps to formalize recommendations.
Evaluates the organizations jobs, documenting responsibilities and requirements in job descriptions.
Responsible for participating in and analyzing the results of compensation surveys.
Participates in annual salary administration programs, including salary structure creation and maintenance and development of salary increase budgets.
Review salary increases for compliance with organization policy and budget.
Participates and SWAB Committee meetings by preparing the agenda and materials ahead of time and tracking what positions have been approved by the committee.
Prepares Total Compensation Statements for employees to communicate the full value received for working at ARUP.
Assists with all aspects of the annual pay adjustments.
Performs system administration of compensation related programs.
Other duties as assigned.
Physical and Other Requirements:
Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.
Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
Mobility: The person in this position needs to occasionally move between work sites and inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
Communicate: Frequently communicate with others.
PPE: Biohazard laboratory environment that requires use of personal protective equipment in accordance with CDC and OSHA regulations and company policies.
ARUP Policies and Procedures: To conduct self in compliance with all ARUP Policies and Procedures.
Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
Fine Motor Control: Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling.
Experience
Required- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or other discipline directly related to the position
- One year of Compensation or HR experience
- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP)
- Experience conducting market survey research
- Experience with annual merit increase processes for a large employer
Education
Required- Bachelor's Degree or better in Human Resources or related field
Licenses & Certifications
Preferred- Certified Comp Pro
