Hours: 15-20 per week
POSITION SUMMARY: Assists the staff of the Financial Aid Office by greeting students and other visitors, performing administrative tasks, running errands on campus, and completing other duties as needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Welcomes visitors to determine nature of business and announce them to Financial Aid staff
- Answers basic questions and directs other questions to appropriate staff member
- Prepares, receives, and routes Financial Aid Office email, mail, deliveries, faxes, etc.
- Retrieves, copies, scans, files, and archives documents and files
- Assists with data entry and data processing (Financial Aid Applications, Entrance Counseling, Verification Letters, Reconciliation Reports, etc.)
- Writes and edits various types of communications
- Runs errands to campus Post Office, Business Office, Registrar’s Office, etc.
- Organizes supplies and restocks paper in printer
- Performs other duties as assigned by Financial Aid staff
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES (MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS):
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills with a willingness to serve and perceive the needs of others
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, take initiative, and prioritize
- Competency in MS Office and general efficiency with computer skills
- Skill in English composition, grammar, spelling, and punctuation
- Strong organizational skills
- Detail oriented, reliable, dependable, and adaptable
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Experience with financial aid and/or student services a plus
