Salary Range: $110k-$120k
Location: Ridgefield, NJ 07657 (On-site)

We are seeking a driven and experienced Controller/Accounting Manager to lead and enhance our accounting operations. This position requires a hands-on leader with expertise in construction accounting, including AIA billing, payroll, and financial oversight. You will manage a team of 4-5 accounting professionals and play a pivotal role in streamlining processes, ensuring compliance, and driving the financial success of the company.
Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Management:
- Oversee and manage a team of 4-5, including two Accounts Receivable staff, one Accounts Payable staff, and one Purchasing staff.
- Train, mentor, and guide the team to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
- Bring structure and control to the accounting department, fostering collaboration and accountability.
Key Accounting Operations:
- Manage and process AIA billing for construction projects.
- Oversee union and non-union payroll processing through QuickBooks Desktop.
- Monitor and manage accounts payable and receivable processes.
- Process and upload payments into QuickBooks Desktop.
Construction Contracts & Compliance:
- Review, assign, and monitor construction contracts.
- Conduct pre-qualification checks for contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and third-party sites.
Financial Oversight & Reporting:
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to senior leadership.
- Lead financial review meetings with executives to provide updates on financial performance.
- Reconcile construction-related general ledger accounts and ensure accuracy in key financial components.
Process Improvement & Compliance:
- Develop and standardize accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Collaborate with IT teams to enhance process automation.
