What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Manager of Corporate Development position at Ascendo Resources?
Our client, a Private Equity Owned company with multiple locations throughout Latin America and North America seeks a Strong Corporate Development Executive to deploy with the company for a 6-12 month period providing full transaction support to corporate development projects (Acquisition transactions, New build projects and Existing facility expansions), with a focus on acquisition projects).
The position is based in the Americas Regional Office in Miami (Hybrid) and will require travel to the LATAM locations.
Specific Responsibilities
- Develop a sound working knowledge of the specific industry vertical to allow market prioritization.
- Drive and manage internal and external geographical markets andsub-sectors analysis
- Support the team in identifying potential acquisition and new build opportunities in line with the Corporate Development strategy
- Develop and manage the acquisition pipeline through market visits and other initiatives
- Participate in the entire transaction process from sourcing/origination to transaction documentation and completion together with the Head of Transaction Delivery and Integration and the Heads of Corporate Development in regions
- Take leading role in key aspects of transaction processes such as evaluation of opportunity, LOI, due diligence, and/or documentation
- Build and manage relationships with LATAM business owners, investors and business partners
- Prepare and evaluate complex financial models (analysis, forecast and valuation), including impact of acquisitions to from financial and operational perspectives
- Prepare investment cases to Executive Committees and Board for investment approvals
- Support Head of Integration on integration planning and execution
- Manage project budgets and ensure cost effectiveness
- Support the production of the integration and issues mitigation plans during acquisition, in close cooperation with the Heads of Corporate Development in regions, the Head of Transaction Delivery and Integration and with Regional teams and Central functions
- Ensure that best practice and proven processes are followed from plans generation to execution
- Ensure all key elements of due diligence are included in the integration and remediation plans and adequate measures are in place and have been validated by the regions/central functions/Exco/Board depending on priorities
- Prepare progress reports of integration to Executive management at regular intervals
- Support Head of Infrastructure Development on analysis of financial and operating data, and prepare financial models to support the business cases
- Prepare Board presentations for investment recommendations
- Support the Head of Transaction Delivery and Integration and the Corporate Development Director on managing internal and external strategic studies on growth strategy, market prioritization, and capital deployment prioritization
- Design, plan and execute Corporate Development Strategy with the ultimate objective of creating value for shareholders
- Represent Corporate Development and the client to liaise directly with sellers, investors, advisors, sponsors, and partners
- Represent our client at meetings, seminars, conferences and other events as required
Requirements
- Local candidate in Miami with ability to work hybrid on site at office and to travel to Latin America as needed.
- Strong academic background with a degree from a leading University
- MBA or a Master’s in finance, CFA, CPA or equivalent a plus
- Experience of various markets and cultures
- Experience working in a deal environment, preferably in (by order of preference) Corporate M&A, Private Equity, transaction team of a Big 4 accounting firm, Investment bank, management consultant with transaction experience from a top consulting firm
- Outstanding analytical, financial modelling and valuation skills, strong PowerPoint skills
- Highly numerate with a sound understanding of what lays behind numbers and drive revenues and profitability
- Solid knowledge of financial accounting
- Ability to pay attentional to detail without compromising the big picture
- Ability to work in teams, independently and under pressure
- Ability to summarize complex issues
- Ability to think creatively when resolving complex issues
