Our esteemed client in Bergen County, New Jersey is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supply Chain Controller to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in supply chain management with a strong background in logistics, freight costing, and warehousing. This individual will be responsible for overseeing and managing the financial performance and optimization of supply chain operations, ensuring cost control, efficiency, and continuous improvement across the entire supply chain function.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain supply chain cost models and financial forecasts.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) for logistics, freight, and warehousing operations.
- Manage freight costing processes, ensuring accurate budgeting and cost tracking for transportation services.
- Collaborate with logistics and warehousing teams to identify areas for cost reduction and process improvement.
- Review and analyze freight invoices, addressing discrepancies and ensuring accuracy in pricing and contract terms.
- Prepare and present detailed financial reports for supply chain activities, highlighting opportunities for optimization and efficiency improvements.
- Work closely with procurement, finance, and operations teams to align supply chain performance with business goals.
- Develop strategies to improve inventory management, warehousing processes, and transportation logistics to reduce costs while maintaining service levels.
- Assist with forecasting and planning of supply chain budgets and capital expenditure.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in a supply chain or logistics-related role, with a focus on freight costing and warehousing.
- Strong understanding of supply chain processes, logistics operations, and inventory management.
- Proficiency in supply chain software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities to work cross-functionally with different teams.
- Proven ability to identify cost-saving opportunities and implement effective solutions.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or similar certification.
- Experience with transportation management systems (TMS) and warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Advanced proficiency in Excel or similar data analysis tools.
