Underwriter

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Commercial Underwriter to join a growing team in Miami. The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating and analyzing commercial real estate transactions, assessing risks, and making informed recommendations on loan approvals. You will collaborate closely with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure sound underwriting practices while maintaining excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze commercial real estate loan applications, including property valuations, financial statements, and borrower creditworthiness.
• Conduct thorough market research to assess property performance, market conditions, and economic trends.
• Prepare detailed underwriting reports, including risk assessments and recommendations for loan approvals.
• Collaborate with loan officers, brokers, and clients to gather necessary documentation and clarify underwriting requirements.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and lending guidelines throughout the underwriting process.
• Monitor and manage existing loan portfolios, assessing performance and making recommendations for modifications or adjustments as necessary.
• Stay informed on industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes to enhance underwriting strategies.
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or a related field
• Previous experience in commercial underwriting required
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders.
• Proficient in underwriting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
