The Payroll and HRIS Administrator is responsible for processing and overseeing payroll operations while managing and maintaining the company's Human Resources Information System (HRIS) through ADP. This role ensures payroll accuracy, compliance with regulations, and system efficiency. The administrator collaborates with Finance, HR and IT teams to streamline payroll and HRIS functions, ensure data integrity, support audits, and enhance reporting capabilities.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
· Oversee and ensure the accurate and timely processing of payroll for all Sites, including both U.S. and international locations, in compliance with local regulations, company policies, and tax requirements.
· Post payroll activities into the appropriate SAP general ledgers.
· Provide the non-SAP locations with payroll reports to enable proper booking into the general ledger
· Working with Accounting Manager, track the Company's various bonus programs and report to the various sites appropriate journal entries to enable proper accounting for the bonus programs
· Assist the Accounting Manager with tracking, booking, and reconciling the SAP fixed assets within SAP
· Ensure payroll transactions, including benefits deductions, bonuses, and wage garnishments, are processed correctly.
· Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure payroll accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
· Ensure compliance with labor laws, tax regulations, and company policies regarding payroll and HR systems.
· Administer and maintain the HRIS (ADP) to ensure accurate employee data management, reporting, and analytics.
· Serve as the primary point of contact for HRIS-related inquiries, troubleshooting system issues, and implementing enhancements.
· Generate and analyze HR and payroll reports for leadership and auditing purposes.
· Maintain system security, access levels, and employee self-service portals.
· Support HR initiatives by integrating HR technology solutions and improving system workflows.
· Provide training to HR staff and employees on HRIS functionalities and payroll procedures.
· Assist in year-end payroll processing, tax reporting, and audits.
· Process new hires and terminations, including payroll system updates and compliance reporting.
· Set up new states for tax compliance and ensure accurate tax withholdings.
· Process responses to unemployment insurance benefit claims.
· Verify employment (VOEs) as requested.
· Assist in payroll and HR audits, ensuring accurate records and compliance
· Ensure Confidentiality of payroll and employee date
· Perform other duties as assigned by either HR leadership or Group Accounting Manager
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of experience in payroll processing and HRIS administration (ADP preferred).
- Strong understanding of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Experience with HRIS implementation, maintenance, and reporting.
- Takes initiative and proactively identifities areas for improvement
- Demonstrates ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Shows teamwork by cooperating with others, maintaining a positive attitude and communicating openly.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and ability to manage confidential information.
- ADP Workforce Now or similar HRIS experience.
- Certification in Payroll (CPP) or HR (SHRM-CP, PHR) preferred.
- Experience in a manufacturing or multi-state payroll environment.
