What You’ll Do
The Business Development Representative-Inside Sales is responsible for prospecting leads through various lead sources and qualifying new customers based on a targeted criteria to fill the pipeline for the sales team across all business segments (On-Demand, International Freight Forwarding and Domestic over the road truckload, LTL and intermodal).
- Prospects new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up and outbound calls and emails.
- Research customers, their market position, competitors, etc. and identify key players and appropriate contacts to generate interest.
- Identifies the opportunity, determines, and presents the appropriate transportation solution based on customers service needs and overall potential.
- Routes qualified opportunities to the appropriate salesperson for further development and closure.
- Documents all activities daily in CRM for measurement and communicates account detail to all stakeholders.
- Answers customers’ questions, resolves any concerns, and provides additional information via calls and emails.
- Maintains and improves the database of prospects.
- Upsells products and services.
- Meets metrics and quotas set by management
What You’ll Bring
- 1 years inside sales or direct customer service customer experience.
- BA/BS degree or equivalent preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of international freight forwarding, domestic truckload, or on-demand transportation industry including US Customs & Border protection preferred.
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Windows, Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Track record of consistently meeting and exceeding quotas and targets or metrics.
- Strong phone presence and experience dialing/emailing 30 customers per day.
- Proficient with corporate productivity and web presentation tools.
- Experience working with Zoho or similar CRM.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Detail oriented, with strong listening and presentation skills
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
