What are the responsibilities and job description for the Deputy Small Claims/Civil Clerk position at Ashland County?
Track and manage court deadlines and timelines to support case progression and compliance. Record accurate court minutes and provide clerking support during hearings. Manage and respond to emails and voicemails, providing clear guidance on court procedures to attorneys, litigants and the public. Accurately code and process incoming court filings in compliance with legal requirements. Backup to receiving and processing fine payments and bail money, ensuring proper handling and documentation. Draft and generate court orders as directed by judges or attorneys. Backup to performing end-of-day closing procedures, including till balancing and preparing bank deposits. Maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive information and case materials. Serves as backup Deputy Window Clerk. Serves as Deputy Clerk in all case type proceedings including family, paternity, civil, traffic, forfeiture and recovery court, cross-trained to assist and serve as back-up where needed within the department. All other duties as assigned.
