The Clerk of Circuit Court's office is seeking a dedicated and adaptable individual to join our team as a Deputy I in the Circuit Court. Under the direction of the Clerk of Circuit Court, the Deputy Clerk plays an important role in ensuring the smooth operation of court proceedings. This multifaceted position involves assisting with the processing of court records across various case types, serving as the office receptionist, and managing essential tasks such as proofing, scanning documents, and preparing criminal court bonds. Additionally, the Deputy Clerk will be responsible for receipting funds, daily bookkeeping tasks, and collaborating with collection agencies to recoup fines and other funds owed to the county.This is a full-time benefit eligible position working 31 hours per week. Must be able to work a flexible weekly schedule to cover as needed in the office.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Screen telephone calls and refer to proper deputy or office if unable to answer. Use the court database to answer questions at the window or any telephone calls. Greet public in a polite and knowledgeable manner.Receipt funds.Prepare bonds in criminal cases. Serve as courtroom clerk by taking minutes, filing exhibits, and swearing in witnesses.Perform day end closure of financialsWork with collection agencies and/or State Debt Collection agency.Assist with processing documents in all case types. Proof scanned documents. Enter invoices into data system for payment. Assist with jury management. Back up family, civil, and criminal clerks when there is an absence. Scan and shred documents as needed. Cross train in all aspects of the Clerk of Circuit Court office.
