Position Summary
The Senior Vice President (SVP) - National Accounts and Business Development is a key member of the commercial leadership team. This individual will be responsible for cultivating strategic relationships, driving significant growth with national accounts, GPOs, IDNs, including government entities such as VA and DOD, and identifying new business opportunities. The SVP will oversee national account management, lead negotiations for critical contracts, and drive business development efforts to expand the company’s footprint within the healthcare and medical supplies sector. The role works collaboratively and cross-functionally across the organization to deliver innovative solutions and superior customer service while achieving revenue and profitability goals.

Duties and Responsibilities
Strategic Account & Business Development Leadership

Design and implement a comprehensive, growth-focused sales strategy targeting national accounts, GPOs, IDNs, and government entities.

Conduct market research, and analyze trends, customer needs, and the competitor landscape, to inform business development strategies.

Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including partnerships, mergers, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships.

Expand the company’s reach into self-distributing IDNs and net-new strategic sourcing agreements.
National Account & GPO Management

Build and sustain strong relationships with senior leaders within key national accounts, ensuring exceptionally high levels of engagement and customer satisfaction.

Develop and execute contracting strategies aligned with the company’s product roadmap, winning new contracts with national GPOs and regional subgroups.

Negotiate and oversee pricing agreements and long-term partnerships to enhance profitability and drive market presence.

Monitor and improve key account performance by tailoring solutions that meet diverse client needs while achieving revenue objectives.
Government Market Expansion

Establish contracting partnerships (e.g., SDVOSB) to enhance entry to the government market.

Operate closely with sales leadership to create and implement strategies for increasing contract growth within VA, DOD, and other government healthcare agencies.
Leadership & Team Development

Recruit, mentor, and lead a results-oriented National Accounts and Business Development team.

Industry Engagement & Expertise

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (e.g., MBA) preferred.

Minimum of 7-10 years of leadership experience in business development and/or national account management within the healthcare industry (experience in medical supplies is preferred).

Demonstrated success in building strategic partnerships, negotiating high-value contracts, and achieving revenue growth.
